The Origin of Basketball

Do you know the most popular sport in the world? It’s soccer. But, if you ask this question to the US people, they will answer basketball. Yes, in US, basketball becomes the most popular sport that most of people play. Basketball also becomes the sport that can make you looks cool. And NBA, the basketball league in US, becomes one of the best basketball leagues in the world. Many top player with high basketball skill play in this league. But, do you know the origin of basketball that makes this games become so popular?

Although, basketball is the most popular sport in USA, actually, this sport was born from the creativity of Dr. James Naismith. He’s Canadian, Born in Almonte, Ontario, Canada. When winter comes, we all know that it’s stupid thing to do, when we do sport activity outdoor. James have idea to create activity that we can do inside the room, without require too much equipment and strength. Basically, James creates sport that everyone can do. It began with two peach baskets and a soccer ball. James throws the ball into the basket with his friend and they have great time. And after few years, there’re many people that accept this sport, like and even this sport become popular. And in 1936, this sport was brought to Berlin Olympics. At that time, this sport becomes even more popular until today.

Now, basketball isn’t only indoor sport, but, it become professional sport and even business. And this sport also becomes one of fun activity to do with family or friend.
